On October 20, 2017, in Dalian, China, the third working meeting was held as part of the UNDP program for the Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI). The meeting was arranged with the support of the Tumen Branch of the China Association of International Trade (CAIT). Representatives of the academic and expert community from Russia, China, Mongolia, and the Republic of Korea participated in the meeting. Representatives of EDSG also took part in the discussions.
The Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) was launched in 1995 with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), as well as with the participation of the governments of China, Mongolia, Russia, and the Republic of Korea. In 2007-2010, the organizational branch structure of the GTI was formed in the form of a number of branch councils. Currently, there is an active discussion on the institutionalization of this initiative at supernational level.
